Kolwezi is one of the fastest-growing cities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Often described as the younger sister of Lubumbashi, it has recently emerged as a major hub for mineral trade in the southern region of the country.

This rapid development is attracting international businesses and, with it, generating new demands for housing capable of accommodating evolving lifestyles and transient populations.

The project is inserted within a narrow urban plot and unfolds through a careful negotiation between openness and enclosure. It explores how architecture can balance privacy, density, and climatic responsiveness within a constrained footprint.

The building is composed of apartment units designed for both short- and long-term rental. Each unit is conceived as an autonomous living environment, offering flexibility while maintaining a coherent architectural identity.
